Bodily Injury & Property Damage Liability
Liability coverage pays other people for damages that you cause if you are found to be at fault in an accident. There are two kinds of liability coverage:
Bodily Injury liability coverage protects you from claims and lawsuits by people who are injured or die as a result of an accident you cause. It compensates those people for pain, suffering and other personal hardships and will also pay for some economic damages, such as lost wages.
Property Damage liability coverage protects you from claims and lawsuits by people whose property is damaged as a result of an accident you cause. It pays for the property damage that you cause due to a motor vehicle accident, including damage to buildings or other vehicles or their contents, and damage to fences and road signs.
The limit of liability is the most we will pay for all bodily injury and property damage caused in an accident.
Uninsured Motorists Coverage
Uninsured Motorists Coverage protects you if you are in an accident caused by someone who is legally liable and does not have the minimum amount of insurance required by law. Uninsured Motorists coverage pays for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering caused by the uninsured driver. Claims that you would have made against the driver who was at fault are paid by your own policy up to the limits of your own uninsured motorist’s coverage.
Stacked Coverage:
This option, offered in some states, allows you to stack the limits of uninsured/underinsured motorist’s coverage, provided you have more than one vehicle on the policy. Stacked limits of coverage would be the sum of limits for each motorcycle insured under the policy.
Medical Payments
Medical Payments Coverage pays for reasonable medical and hospitalization expenses or limited funeral expenses for you or others injured or killed while riding your motorcycle even if you are legally responsible for the accident. This coverage may not be available in states that require Personal Injury Protection.
Comprehensive (Other Than Collision) Coverage
Comprehensive coverage pays to repair or replace your insured motorcycle due to a loss caused by an event other than a collision. Comprehensive coverage pays for damage from many causes, including theft, vandalism, fire, water, hail, wind, falling objects or impact with a bird or animal.
You buy comprehensive coverage with a deductible option. Your deductible will be the amount you agree to pay out of your own pocket before your insurance will pay for any damage.
Collision Coverage
Collision coverage pays to repair, replace or reimburse you for property damage to your insured motorcycle. It pays for damage caused by a collision (an impact) with another motor vehicle or with any other object, movable or fixed, including damages caused if your motorcycle overturns. Collision pays for damages to your vehicle, even if an uninsured motorist or an underinsured motorist hits you or if you are responsible for the collision.
You buy collision coverage with a deductible option. Your deductible will be the amount you agree to pay out of your own pocket before your insurance will pay for any damage.
Not all coverage’s are available in all jurisdictions, and coverage’s offered are subject to certain conditions and exclusions. Please consult the policy for a description of the types and scope of protection provided.
